Your photos never leave your device

HEIC Convert Free converts HEIC and HEIF images inside your browser using a bundled WebAssembly decoder. There is no upload step, because there is nowhere for the image to go.

What we do not do

  • No image upload — image bytes are never sent to our servers.
  • No image storage — there is no photo bucket or database column for pixels.
  • No AI processing and no model training on your photos.
  • No advertising use of your photos.
  • No facial recognition or content scanning.
  • No thumbnails, hashes, filenames or folder paths sent to analytics.
  • No silent server fallback when a file fails to convert locally.

Metadata

EXIF and GPS metadata are removed from converted files by default. A converted photo does not carry the coordinates, device identifiers or timestamps stored by the camera.

What we do collect

If you create an account we store your email address, subscription state from Stripe, and aggregate counters such as how many files you converted on a given day and whether the output was JPG or PNG. Those counters contain no filenames and no image data.

Full details are in the Privacy Policy. Technical controls are described on the Security page.

Verify it yourself

Open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and convert a photo. You will see requests for the application's own scripts and the WebAssembly decoder, and no request carrying your image.
