Accessibility Statement

Last updated 2026-08-27. This statement describes the current state of the product, not an aspiration.

Commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. The converter is a simple, single-purpose tool and we intend it to be usable with a keyboard, a screen reader, and at high zoom levels.

What is implemented

  • Semantic headings and landmarks on every page.
  • Keyboard-operable file selection — the drop area is also a standard file input.
  • Visible focus styles and a logical tab order.
  • Text contrast targeted at 4.5:1 or better for body copy.
  • Status messages for conversion progress and errors written in plain language.
  • Responsive layout that reflows without horizontal scrolling at 320px width.
  • No autoplaying media, no flashing content, and motion limited to short transitions.

Known limitations

  • Drag-and-drop is a convenience only; the equivalent button is the supported path.
  • No formal third-party accessibility audit has been carried out.
  • Payment and billing pages are hosted by Stripe and follow Stripe's own accessibility work.

Feedback

If any part of the service creates a barrier for you, email info@heicconvertfree.com with the page, your assistive technology and what happened. We aim to reply within five business days and will offer an alternative way to complete the task where a fix will take longer.
